An Exciting Year That's Just Beginning....

Hello Sisters!

2015 is shaping up to be a great year!

The Dave And Buster’s event  was a great success. We raised close to $250 for Autism Speaks! We had so much fun catching up and getting to know new sisters over drinks, food and games! We also had our first monthly fit event, hiking at Fryman Canyon in Studio City. We had a wonderful group of woman, and one adorable dog named Aurora, join us for a hike and chat! Again we were excited to see new faces, even a big sis and her little sis from University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

This Month we are looking forward to two more monthly events. March 16th will be our first monthly meet up for drinks and dancing! From 8:00-10:00pm we will be at Copa d’Oro in Santa Monica. Come joins us for a fun night out with sisters! Our next fit event on March 21st will also be a mixer with the Delta Rho collegiates of California State University, Northridge. We will be dancing ourselves fit with a private Zumba class! After, we will have a chance to get to know our younger active sisters over healthy snacks. As part of our national Fun Fit program, this will also be a philanthropy event! Delta Rho will also be holding a Casino Night and Silent Auction on March 29th. Keep an eye out for more details on these events.

April is also an exciting time for Alpha Xi Delta because it is the month we were founded in 1893! Southern California’s Founder’s Day Celebration will be held at The Garland Hotel in North Hollywood on April 19th. We are asking for any donations for the raffle and silent auction. So ask work, school, friends, family, anyone who might have something thing to contribute. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. :) Contact Angela at laalumpresident@gmail.com  with donation ideas or questions. Also please purchase your tickets by March 31st. You can of course buy a ticket after that time, for an extra charge. Check out our event page Alpha Xi Delta Founder's Day Celebration for more details.

In National News:  February saw the launch of the alumnae program A Clear Vision of Life: The Wellbeing Program. Alpha Xi Delta is offering a series of challengers related to your Career, Social, Financial, Physical, and Community wellbeing. These challenges can be accessed through your Exclusively Xi account. You can even win prizes for participating! Check out  A Clear Vision of Life for more information.
Alpha Xi Deltas across the country also reached a truly amaXIng philanthropic milestone of $3 MILLION for Autism Speaks!! You can read more about that and see the video announcement here: Alpha Xi Delta Raises $3 Million for Autism Speaks

Every once in a while I have to remind myself what it means to be an Alpha Xi Delta and the values I strive to uphold. So I leave you with our symphony and look forward to seeing you at our events this month!

“These things do we earnestly desire:
A clear vision of life, that with gracious and kindly hearts we may share both joy and sorrow and bring into living reality the Sisterhood of women.
An appreciation of real merit and worth, steadfastness of soul, that without bitterness or defeat we may encounter misfortune and with humility meet success.
These things, O Lord, help us to instill within our hearts that we may grow in courage and graciousness and peace”.

Meet Our Sister of the Month: Lianna Sapien!

With such busy lives, we can't always make it to every event or meet every sister. Our "Sister of the Month" posts give you the chance to get to know a sister you may not have met before or learn a new fun fact about her. Each month we will select a member of our alum association to highlight. If you have any questions or would like to reach out to our Sister of the Month, please email us at laalumpresident@gmail.com.
