Every May thousands of Alpha Xi Delta actives move on to the next chapter in their lives and our sisterhood. So I would like to dedicate this post to those sisters:
Congratulations on becoming an alumni of our wonderful fraternity! As you have heard time and time again, Alpha Xi Delta is not just four years; it's for life. You will spend more time as an alumni than you will as an active. And for that reason you will go through many different and uniquely personal stages with the fraternity. You may have just finished up your most involved year with your chapter and feel like you need a beat to catch your breath. That's fine, Alpha Xi Delta will be here when you are ready. Or maybe you have been eagerly anticipating joining those who have gone before you, like your Big Sis! I highly encourage you to jump in with both feet and see how you can get involved with your local association! There you will meet sisters from across the country and learn about their experiences. If you haven't learned it yet, you will realize just how vast our sisterhood is.
The bottom line is your life is about to change, and for many in more ways than one. Your sisters and the sisterhood will still be there for you. They will still be the ones you call with great news, or lend a shoulder to cry on. You may no longer see each other everyday, or it may be a new sister you have yet to meet, but Alpha Xi Delta will always be here for you. Life might pull you in an unknown direction, and maybe even away for a little bit, but you will always have a home among your sisters.
