We're Turning 100! Save the Date

Nationals just informed our Alumnae Association that we're approaching our 100 year anniversary THIS SUMMER!  This is a grand milestone and one that we were not aware of.  So, we are making changes to the calendar to celebrate this achievement in style.   

The summer pancake cookoff will therefore be postponed and instead we're planning a more elaborate celebration to make the gathering worthy of such a significant event.

Meet a New Sister...Leslie!

In an effort to help introduce you to other fabulous Alpha Xi sisters in the LA area, please meet Leslie! 

Initiated at the Gamma Alpha Chapter at San Diego State in Spring 1997, Leslie is currently the Interest Group Events Planner for the LA Alumnae Association.  Leslie brings a fun energy and passion into the mix, and she's got some really fun events up her sleeve for this year, including an Olvera Street expedition, Kareoke, and a Clothing swap!    

Leslie's favorite hobbies are shopping, animals, movies, trivia, and spending lots of time with family, especially her adoring nieces and nephews.  She's also an aspiring comedienne who used to perform in a comedy troupe in San Diego. 

With her contagious smile, you'll be sure to meet Leslie, and other fun and friendly sisters, at our next event.

Quince De Mayo!

Ole!  Olvera street is one of those places that MUST be on your checklist of chic things to do in LA.  It's one of the most famous tourist destinations in the city.  A beautiful, historic and cultural experience, our day will be filled with Mariachi music, vibrant bright colors, trinket shopping, and mouth-watering Mexican food and drink.  Plus, we'll be taking the subway there, and chances are riding THAT is on your LA checklist, too.  Bring your camera and bring your marker because, sister, we're checking things off the list together.

A very special thank you to those sisters and friends who participated in the 2011 Walk Now for Autism Speaks.  With a team of over 108 collegiate and alumnae members, Team Alpha Xi Delta made a difference in our community by showing massive support and raising over $18,000 for Autism Speaks.  Such dedication to philanthropy is inspiring.  Shine on sisters!

April 12 - CPK Fundraiser.  See the flier below, print it for co-workers, post it on your Facebook profile, spread the word!!  Just show the flier to your waiter at California Pizza Kitchen in Encino, CA any time on April 12 and 20% of your bill goes towards Walk Now for Autism Speaks.

April 16 - Founders Day Hosted by the SFV Alumnae Association.  See the invitation in the previous post and RSVP to Janis Rosebrook <janis.rosebrook@mac.com>.  This year you can pay at the door, so email Janis TODAY!

April 17 - Silent Auction hosted by the Dhelta Rho Alpha Xi collegiate chapter.  1pm - 4pm in the Grand Salon at Cal State Northridge.  All proceeds will go towards our joint Walk Now for Autism Speaks team. 

April 23 - Walk Now for Autism Speaks.  The LA Alumnae Assoc and the collegiate chapter at CSUN will join forces to take to the streets of Pasadena.  Join the team and do your part to stop Autism in our community.  Team link:  Team Alpha Xi Delta
