Meet a New Sister

Angela!

Angela is a loyal, loving, sincere friend who's beautiful smiling face is often seen at Alumnae events.  She was initiated into the Delta Rho Chapter at Cal State University, Northridge in 1998.  She loved Alpha Xi Delta so much that she actually had our letters tattooed on her body!  (Ask her to show you next time you see her).  Her love of helping others drew her to speech-language pathology and after graduation in Spring '05 with her Master's Degree in hand, she set off to do just that and has been working for the LA Unified School District ever since.  She also continues to give back to Alpha Xi Delta  as the current Academics adviser to the Delta Rho Chapter and the Secretary for the Alumnae Association.

When she's not in LA, Angela's often in another country altogether.  She has an amazing adventurous spirit and a passion for travel.  She tries to take at least one big trip per year - how awesome is that?!  Some of her favorite destinations include much of South America, most of Central America, Scotland, England, Italy, France, Spain, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines, New Zealand, and Australia.  She's already planning her next destination, either South Africa or Eastern Europe! She also loves concerts and has been known to drive as far as Phoenix Arizona just to catch a really good show.  Some faves include Kid Rock, System of a Down, Stone Temple Pilots, and Deftones.

Angela is an exceptional and amazing person, and has a huge heart for Alpha Xi Delta.  Be sure to look out for her at our next alumnae event.  You won't want to miss the opportunity to know such a gem!

Meet a New Sister

Victoria!!

In the dimly lit Mexican Cantina where we had our last association happy hour a small group of women met at a back corner table.  But they could be heard long before they could be seen, laughing at the top of their lungs.  This is what happens when Victoria comes to an event.  It's true.  With a fabulous sense of humor and an incredible flare for making people feel comfortable right away, Victoria is a must-know-sister.  She's fun and wise and beautiful and silly, all at the same time! 

Victoria is a graduate of California State Northridge and loved her time as a Delta Rho.  As an alumni she's active in the alumnae association, currently serving as the Philanthropy Chair (Sign up NOW for the Walk Now For Autism Speaks, JOIN THE TEAM HERE).  She currently works as the manager of an upscale children's boutique in Santa Monica.  When she's not selling baby Gucci clothes or helping her favorite client, a singer of "Titanic" proportions, Victoria loves to go to concerts, see any kind of live music, visit comedy clubs, and read.  She also loves to spend time with her nearest and dearest family and friends, and is happy to say that she's expanding that circle of friends through the Association.

Victoria says she's looking forward to many more fun events in 2012, and you should be, too, because if Victoria is there...it's always a guaranteed good time!

Starts preparing now!  April is coming and it's always an incredibly fulfilling and busy month for Alpha Xi Deltas in LA for two reasons: Founders Day and Walk Now for Autism Speaks. 

Join the Alpha Xi Delta Autism Speaks Team now!  We'll join forces with the collegiate sisters of California State Northridge for an awesome day of sisterhood and philanthropy on Saturday April 12th.   Team Alpha Xi

Mourning the Loss of Sisters

By now I'm sure you've heard the sad and tragic news about the sisters in Bowling Green who were killed in a car accident on their way to spring break.  Please keep two surviving sisters in your thoughts and prayers, as well as the families of the three that were killed.
