Meet a New Sister

If you're an Alpha Xi in LA, you must get to know HOLLY!

Holly is an incredible and inspiring sister with a gorgeous smile and a contagious laugh.  She's a great friend to explore the city with, and always knows the best concerts and events happening in LA.  Since graduating from Townson University (just North of Baltimore) she's lived all over the country, first as an Alpha Xi Delta ELC and now working in Film Production/Accounting.  Recently she's lived on location in Boston, New Orleans, New York, and Charolette working on movies including 21, Old School, Memoirs of a Geisha, Spider-Man 3, Iron Man 2, and currently the new Tarantino film Django Unchained.  Want to see more?  Check out a Lifetime film she worked on called "Girl Positive," an awesome and impacting film about HIV positive high school students.

Holly wishes that she loved yoga, shopping, and exercise, but so far she doesn't.  However she does love spending time with her nieces and nephews on the East Coast, discovering great food and perfect wine in the city, and hanging with sisters at Alpha Xi Delta events (including being a Delta Rho advisor).  She's also been known to feed stray cats in her neighborhood and give great advise to sisters about the perfect shade of red lipstick.

Holly plans to make it to all 50 states sometime soon, and she's nearly there with only seven left to go!  If you can catch her, look for her at our next event.  You'll be so glad you did!  She's amaXIng!! She's also the LAAA Financial VP, so don't forget to send her your dues for 2012.  ;)

AmaXIng Holiday Party!

Bundled in our best LA winter jackets, sisters met under the giant balloon AXD sign to stoll along the streets of Burbank in awe of the twinkling lights and holiday splendor at the Metrolink Holiday Toy Express.  With generous hearts and with children with autism in mind, sisters donated toys and games for children in need.  Over 20 Alpha Xi's and family members then journeyed to dinner as we packed BJ's restaurant with laughter, sisterhood, and so much holiday spirit!

Thanks to Mirai for planning and organizing and thanks for the Burbank Herald for mentioning us in the news!  Alpha Xi Alums in the News!

Happy Holidays Sisters! We'll look forward to more fabulous events and gatherings in the new year!

Meet a New Sister

In an effort to introduce you to other fabulous sisters in the LA area, please meet Dani!

Dani is a serious sports fan who loves to support her teams.  The NY Yankees, the SF 49ers, the Texas Longhorns, the Lakers, and the Dodgers are her absolute favorites, and each team has a special meaning or representation in her life (Ask her about it!).  She also enjoys spending time with her beloved family and friends, and running her own business.  She began a pet-sitting/house-sitting business called "Sit On It" while she was in college, and it has continued on for over 16 years!
Pretty Dani!
Dani is also passionate about giving back and prides herself on doing three big philanthropic walks a year - Walk Now for Autism Speaks, the Revlon Run/Walk for Women, and the AIDS Walk.  She was appointed as the West Territory Philanthropy Director last year, and we couldn't be more proud!  She loves working with Alpha Xi Delta on a National Level because it affords her the opportunity to reach out to chapters across the coast about something she believes in strongly, philanthropy.

Dani was initiated in 1997 as a Junior at California State Northridge, where she later graduated with a degree in Psychology.  Alpha Xi Delta has continued to be important to her and as she's been an Advisor for the local collegiate chapter, Delta Rho, for 10+ years.  She also served on the executive board of the LA Alumnae association for four years.

"I have always believed in Alpha Xi Delta. I love being a part of an association that helps continue the bonds and friendships of our Fraternity after the college experience." -Dani

Dani is an incredible woman with a big heart and lucky for you, she's an Alpha Xi in LA!  Look for her pretty smile at our next event.
